Intimate Creekside Wedding on 35mm Film

Brittany & Chuck

Brittany and Chuck really only had two main requests for me when it came to photographing their wedding day.

1. Focus a lot on candid photos of them and their guests
2. Shoot it on film. :)

Brittany and Chuck planned out a truly memorable day to celebrate their marriage. They gathered all their loved ones on some family property just a few miles east of Rapid City and right on Rapid Creek (in the background of the ceremony photos), threw up a reception tent, hung some twinkly lights, hired a local band, and secured some of the best food and drinks around. When it all came together it was the perfect setup for creating a relaxing evening of food and drinks and socializing. So relaxed in fact that many of the guests showed up with tents and RVs and stayed the night right there by the creek - including myself with my tent. ;)

Per request, I shot as much as I could on 35mm film. Because film can be a bit finicky, I still tried to keep a digital camera on me at all times shooting backup images when able. Below are some of my favorite frames from their day. There are some digital images mixed in here, but this entry is primarily on 35mm Kodak film.
